The Alliance for Credible Governance (ACG) has alleged a cover-up in the suspension of senior officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) over the deaths of 38 suspected illegal miners in Niger State. The group described the suspension as peremptory and questionable, and called for the resignation of Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. ACG expressed concern over the alleged poisoning of the miners while in the custody of a government security agency. The group said the minister's quick conclusion blaming the suspended officers showed he had explanations to make.
