Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Group, has called on Africa to retain its capital and invest in its own industrial future. Speaking at the Unstoppable Africa 2026 event, he outlined a vision for African industrialization backed by billions of dollars in investment, new refining capacity, and broader public ownership. Dangote pointed to Asia's economic rise and argued that Africa cannot build comparable industrial strength while its money flows into foreign banks and markets. He emphasized the importance of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in creating the scale needed for major industrial projects, urging businesses to believe in the continent and stay focused despite challenges.
