Nigeria recorded 18 new confirmed cases of Lassa fever in epidemiological week 35, bringing the total for 2026 to 1,074 cases and 258 deaths across 24 states. The case fatality rate has risen to 24%, higher than the 18.6% recorded in the same period in 2025. The NCDC reported that the new cases were in Ondo, Edo, and Bauchi states.
