NATO allies in Europe want more commercial satellite imagery to spot threats earlier, CEO says

NATO countries in Europe are increasingly seeking access to commercial satellite imagery to enhance early-warning capabilities, according to Planet Labs CEO Will Marshall. Marshall noted that the demand is partly driven by observations of Ukraine's successful use of such technology in conflict. Planet Labs had approximately $4 billion in satellite service deals in its pipeline as of early September, with about $1 billion expected to materialize in the coming quarters. European allies are also building their own capabilities as the US signals a shift away from Europe.
