Russia has demanded that the European Union remove all Russian citizens from its sanctions list. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the sanctions, including asset freezes and travel bans, are illegal and should be lifted for all Russian businessmen and citizens. The EU had been considering removing sanctions on oligarchs Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman following requests from France, Luxembourg, and Slovakia, but Latvia objected, casting doubt on the renewal of sanctions before a deadline.
