US expands social media checks to foreign media journalists, other visa applicants from Oct 1

The United States will expand mandatory social media screening to I, TN, and TD visa applicants from October 1, 2026. Applicants in the affected categories will be required to make their social media profiles public or open. The expansion is part of the US visa application process. The new requirement applies to foreign media journalists and other visa applicants in these categories.
