Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued seven kidnapped victims along the Daye-Malumfashi road in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State. The victims comprised six female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, and a male commercial driver. They were rescued on the evening of September 21, 2026, after the troops responded to a distress call over an attack on a commercial vehicle travelling from Kaduna to Katsina. The troops' swift intervention forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee, and the victims were rescued unhurt and subjected to preliminary security profiling and medical evaluations before being handed over to designated officials for reunion with their families.
