Alleged Phone Tapping: Court to Rule in El-Rufai’s No-case Submission Oct 26

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled October 26 to deliver its ruling on a no-case submission filed by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. El-Rufai is being prosecuted by the Department of State Services on allegations of breach of national security, including the alleged wiretapping of phone conversations of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. During Tuesday's proceedings, counsel for both parties adopted their processes and presented arguments for and against the submission. El-Rufai's lawyer, Akinyemi Aremu, argued that the prosecution had failed to establish a case requiring the former governor to enter a defence, while DSS counsel Oluwole Aladedoye (SAN) adopted a counter affidavit in opposition.
