Attorney-General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) has stated that Nigeria will not be a soft target for predatory litigation and arbitration. He made the remark in Abuja on Tuesday while reacting to Nigeria's victory in an international arbitration case brought by Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited and its principal, Leno Adesanya. The arbitration concerned the 3,050 megawatt Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project, with Sunrise demanding $400 million. On September 17, a Tribunal of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris ruled in Nigeria's favour, a verdict Fagbemi described as a complete vindication of Nigeria's position.
