The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has opened a stakeholder consultation on draft regulations aimed at preventing anti-competitive practices in the petroleum value chain. The proposed rules seek to curb monopoly, price-fixing, and market manipulation. NMDPRA CEO Rabiu Abdullahi Umar said the regulations are designed to prevent anti-competitive conduct, address abuse of dominant market positions, and ensure fair access to infrastructure. The authority has already received several submissions from stakeholders.
