Community representatives from Chuil Payam in Nyirol County, South Sudan, have committed to breaking the cycle of cattle raiding and revenge attacks. At a two-day peace forum organised by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), 50 representatives from the Gaatbal Cie-Lang and Cien-Yoal communities, including chiefs, elders, youth, women, faith-based leaders, local administrators, and organized forces, discussed ways to prevent violence and promote peaceful coexistence. A youth representative noted that young people are frequently caught up in these conflicts and suffer immense harm.
