Eleven-year-old Jaminatu has been unable to attend school due to severe burn contractures that restrict the movement of her left arm. Her mother, Adama, said Jaminatu withdrew from social activities for fear of mockery. The contractures, which developed after a boiling water accident, have made everyday tasks difficult and left her isolated. The condition can be treated, but the family could not afford the necessary care.
