The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has granted its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the freedom to nominate key officials for the party's Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election. The party is concluding consultations with the candidates and other stakeholders to inaugurate the campaign council, with campaigning set to begin in October. The NDC has also directed states and local government areas to compile election agents and submit their lists within two weeks. This follows the party's disavowal of a 59-member campaign council announced by the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement, which it said was not authorized.
