Dangote Group has signed a deal worth more than $450 million with Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) to oversee the development of its planned 700,000-barrels-per-day greenfield refinery and petrochemical plant in Lamu, Kenya. The agreement marks a significant investment in Kenya's energy sector. The refinery is expected to boost local refining capacity and reduce reliance on imported petroleum products. The project is part of Dangote's expansion strategy across Africa.
