The Federal Government has set up a 10-member independent investigative committee to probe the reported deaths of 37 persons in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Niger State. The committee is headed by Mr. Jonathan Kure, a retired Deputy Director-General of the Department of State Services. Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, inaugurated the panel and gave it an ultimatum to submit its findings.
