Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who is the presidential candidate of the Action Peoples Movement (APM), has pledged to transmit power to the Vice President whenever he is unavailable. He made the commitment on Tuesday during the APM North-West town meeting in Katsina, where he presented his Reset Agenda for the economy, education, security, and the political system. Makinde stated that his pledge aligns with Section 145 of the Constitution, which requires the President to formally notify the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives when going on vacation or being unable to perform official duties. He promised to adhere strictly to the Constitution if elected president in 2027.
