President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that the true test of governance is its impact at the grassroots level, not announcements in Abuja. He made the statement on Tuesday at the State House during the maiden Annual National Conference of the 774 local government chairmen, represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume. The conference, themed 'Cascading President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda to the Grassroots,' is holding from September 22 to 24, 2026. Tinubu recalled his tenure as Lagos State Governor, where he created 37 local council development areas to bring government closer to the people.
