The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has emphasized the need for proper archiving, cataloguing, and documentation of operational and electoral records ahead of the 2027 general election. INEC's Director of Voter Education, Mrs Victoria Eta-Messi, made the call on Tuesday in Abuja during a two-day capacity-building workshop for INEC staff in the Graphics, Library and Documentation division. The workshop, themed 'Preserving Institutional Memory Through Effective Archiving and Documentation,' aimed to enhance public trust and institutional credibility. Eta-Messi cautioned against improper storage of historical electoral materials in state offices.
