A Business Insider reporter gave Amtrak's Acela first class another try after a disappointing experience three years ago. The reporter booked a first-class ticket on the new NextGen Acela train, which debuted in August 2025. The second ride was much better than the first, but the reporter still felt it was too expensive. The Acela is the only Amtrak train with first-class seating, offering business and first-class cars on its Northeast express service.
