Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has accused officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who handled the case of 37 dead illegal miners of being unprofessional. Bago made the remarks in Minna on Tuesday when he received officials of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on a sympathy visit. He said the deaths could have been avoided and that the government would investigate the matter to its logical conclusion.
