Erebor Bank, founded by Anduril Industries co-founder Palmer Luckey, is planning to expand into Syria, according to people familiar with the strategy. The bank has informed staff and some investors that it could help Syria reconnect to the global financial system, potentially attracting billions in deposits from businesses and consumers. This move would position Erebor as an early entrant in Syria, following Washington's recent reopening of the country to U.S. firms and investment. The bank recently became a financial bridge between the U.S. and Venezuela.
