Niger Delta can’t afford another era of instability — MOSIEND

The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has called on the Presidency and stakeholders to protect stability and continuity at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The group warned that the region cannot afford another cycle of administrative disruption, emphasizing that instability at the interventionist agency could disrupt projects and development programmes affecting millions. In a statement by President Dr Kennedy Tonjo West, MOSIEND acknowledged the NDDC leadership appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023 for efforts to reposition the commission under the Renewed Hope Agenda. West noted that the commission has prioritized completing abandoned and legacy projects, along with institutional reforms and stakeholder engagement.
