Rabiu Kwankwaso, vice presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has said a government led by Peter Obi would reintroduce fuel subsidy through a different approach. In an interview with Arise, Kwankwaso explained that the NDC would seek to reduce petrol costs by increasing investment in domestic refining. He stated that the government could establish more refineries to boost local production and reduce dependence on imported petroleum products. Kwankwaso, a former Kano State governor, made the remarks while discussing fuel pricing and the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu's administration.
