The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has threatened to revoke the licences of filling stations that tamper with pumps. The authority said it has observed incidents of under-dispensing of petroleum products at retail outlets nationwide, describing the act as a serious breach of consumer trust. It has directed all retail outlet operators to immediately calibrate and verify their dispensers and totalizers to ensure accurate measurement. The NMDPRA said it has intensified inspections and enforcement activities nationwide, and persistent violations will attract sanctions, including licence revocation.
