Katie Rosier, 48, recently celebrated the fourth anniversary of her sobriety after drinking beer, wine or liquor practically every day since the age of 12. She worked as a high-functioning alcoholic for years until health crises, including five strokes and a heart stent, forced her onto disability. Rosier said she continued drinking even after a stay at a homeless shelter, describing it as one of many rock bottoms during her 32 years as an alcoholic. She got sober and healthy with help from medication she takes monthly.
