The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria and the Bureau of Public Procurement have taken steps to increase the participation of women-owned engineering businesses in public projects. The BPP disclosed that a new affirmative procurement policy is being developed to create more opportunities for women in government contracting. The BPP Director-General, Adebowale Adedokun, represented the bureau in the collaboration. The policy aims to address the underrepresentation of women in public procurement.
