Abubakar Malami, former Attorney-General of the Federation, has spoken about a $200 million settlement related to the Mambilla power project. He stated that settlement discussions were part of a broader governmental effort to resolve a longstanding dispute and remove a legal obstacle to financing and implementation of the project. Malami also rejected a corruption finding by the ICC. The settlement discussions did not arise in a vacuum, he said.
