The Federal Government has set up an independent committee to investigate the deaths of 37 suspected illegal miners who died in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State. The government has vowed that there will be no cover-up in the probe. The committee is expected to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fatalities.
