The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) held a workshop with security agencies to enhance collaboration against fuel smuggling and diversion. The workshop aimed to improve cooperation among regulatory, security, and enforcement agencies and to strengthen technology and data-driven surveillance. NMDPRA Executive Director Ogbugo Ukoha stated that diversion of petroleum products undermines market integrity and efficiency. He emphasized that every litre diverted can distort demand and supply data, weaken investor confidence, and affect industry sustainability.
