Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago has inaugurated a nine-member Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the deaths of 37 people in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The commission is chaired by Justice Mohammed Mohammed of the Niger State High Court of Justice. The inauguration took place in Minna, and the commission is tasked with uncovering the root causes of the incident. This follows an earlier committee headed by Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba.
