The Greenville County Coroner's Office in South Carolina announced that actress Hayden Panettiere died from the toxic effects of fentanyl and other substances. The coroner ruled the death of the 36-year-old an accident. Panettiere was pronounced dead at an apartment in Greenville on August 16 after emergency medical personnel found her in cardiac arrest and were unable to revive her. She had previously spoken publicly about her struggles with mental health and substance abuse, and had recently opened up about her experiences in a memoir.
