Patrick Clancy, whose three young children were killed by his former wife Lindsay Clancy, has explained his decision to forgive her despite her never asking for forgiveness. In his first televised interview since Lindsay's murder trial ended in a mistrial, he told CBS' 60 Minutes that he believed her severe mental illness played a role in the deaths. He said forgiveness was necessary for his own survival, stating that without it he would be eaten up inside forever. When asked if Lindsay had ever sought his forgiveness, he replied that she had not, but he gave it to her anyway.
