The National Assembly leadership has clarified that only the Constitution alteration bill seeking to establish State Police Services has been transmitted to the 36 state assemblies for consideration. Other constitution bills being amended are still awaiting passage by the National Assembly before being sent to the states. The clarification was made in a statement by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, following public perceptions that all alteration bills had been forwarded. The transmitted bill is the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (Sixth Alteration) Bill, 2026.
