APC Writes Court Registrar, Kick Against Substituted Service for Tinubu Over Eligibility Suit

The All Progressives Congress has opposed a Federal High Court order granting the Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, permission to serve court processes on President Bola Tinubu through the APC national secretariat. In a letter dated September 22, 2026, addressed to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court in a case presided over by Justice I.E. Ekwo, the APC described the ex parte application for substituted service as unnecessary and misleading. The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1888/2026, was instituted by Atiku and co-plaintiff against Tinubu, the APC, and INEC as first, second, and third defendants. The letter, signed by APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, revealed that Tinubu's legal team had already filed and served his defence on Atiku's counsel before the order.
