NAHCON Insists on N250m Bank Statement from Hajj Tour Operators

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has said it will not reverse the N250 million statement of account for three years required from Hajj Tour Operators as a condition for pilgrim allocation. NAHCON Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf disclosed this in Abuja at a media interface on issues shaping the 2027 Hajj exercise. He said the need to ensure tour operators have financial capacity prompted the commission to change the guarantee from N40 million to N250 million, despite objections from operators. He explained that taking 100 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia costs about N1 billion, making the previous N40 million deposit inadequate.
