EFInA: Financial Inclusion Hits 79%, Digital Finance Drives Access

The latest Access to Financial Services in Nigeria (A2F) Survey by Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access (EFInA) shows that Nigeria's financial inclusion rate has risen to 79 per cent, covering about 94.2 million adults. Formal financial inclusion also climbed to 73 per cent, equivalent to about 87.2 million adults, surpassing the 70 per cent target of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy. The survey, released in Lagos, indicates that digital financial services are a major driver, with 64.4 per cent of adults using such services in 2026, up from 45 per cent in 2023 and 34 per cent in 2020. These figures reflect a significant shift in the country's financial inclusion landscape.
