The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has eased the interest rate from 26.5 percent to 23 percent in September 2026. Economists and capital markets experts expressed optimism that the rate cut will push banks to lend and support economic growth. The move is also expected to discourage banks from parking surplus funds with the CBN.
