Jared Kaplan, cofounder and chief science officer at Anthropic, predicted that the debate over AI's danger would center on self-improving AI. He leads research and responsible scaling at Anthropic, playing a key role in the AI race. He said the decision point for that process could arrive between 2027 and 2030.
