Anambra State First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has urged residents to take precautionary measures as flooding caused by torrential rainfall continues to affect several communities. She expressed concern over the impact on families, particularly those in flood-prone areas, following reports of flooding that rendered some roads impassable. She advised residents to remain vigilant, pay attention to weather and flood warnings, avoid crossing flooded roads and waterways, and relocate to safer areas when necessary. She also appealed to residents to maintain clean surroundings and stop dumping refuse in drainage channels, warning that blocked waterways could worsen flooding and endanger lives and property. She particularly urged parents and guardians to keep children away from floodwaters and drainage channels.
