Reddit is ramping up its war on marketing slop

Reddit is intensifying its efforts to combat marketing spam by limiting the distribution of suspected spam so it does not appear in the home feed while under review. In testing, this approach reduced spam in the home feed by 28%, user reports of spam in the feed by 11%, and push notifications with spam by 7%. The company also plans to explain to users why certain content is suspected as spam and has identified a large network that violated its rules on disclosing marketing activity.
