At UNGA, Oyedele Canvasses Simpler Access to Affordable Capital for Developing Countries

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, has called for a strategic shift in climate finance to ensure simpler access to affordable capital for Africa and other developing countries. Speaking at the United Nations Dialogue on Solutions to Climate Finance during the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, Oyedele urged the international community to scale up affordable capital for infrastructure and development across Africa. He noted that Africa's development ambitions, especially energy needs, are constrained by high financing costs, currency risks, and limited access to affordable long-term capital.
