Yamal: Ballon d’Or shouldn’t be about goals alone

Lamine Yamal has argued that goals alone should not determine the winner of the Ballon d'Or. The Barcelona forward believes the award should also recognise players whose style, creativity, and ability to entertain make them stand out. He spoke to L'Equipe as he continues his pursuit of the individual honour after finishing behind Ousmane Dembélé in last year's voting. Yamal is again among the leading contenders, with Dembélé, Kylian Mbappé, and Harry Kane also in contention. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on October 26.
