2027: INEC seeks adequate funding, 4 months to elections

With four months to the 2027 general elections, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, has renewed calls for adequate funding of the commission. He warned that security and logistics for a successful poll depend on sustained financial support. Amupitan spoke in Owerri, Imo State, at the sixth edition of the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers. The event was themed “Developing a Nigeria Police Roadmap for Effective Management of Security During Elections.”
