Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JED) has moved to strengthen security around its personnel in Bauchi following a clash between some of its staff and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the disconnection of electricity supply to NAF residential quarters. The company said it is liaising with the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to prevent a recurrence and ensure the safety of its workers. The development followed an incident on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the NAF residential quarters along Kano Road, Bauchi, which raised concerns from the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) over the safety of electricity workers. The NAF facility has reportedly remained without electricity supply from JED since the incident.
