Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the immediate recruitment of 6,030 teachers to strengthen teaching and learning in primary and secondary schools across the state. The Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, announced the recruitment, saying it is part of the state government's broader strategy to strengthen the education sector. The newly recruited teachers completed a six-week intensive training programme at the state-owned Ben Uwajimogu College of Education, Ihitte Uboma. Emelumba said the recruitment was undertaken to fill existing vacancies and ensure no gaps in teaching and learning across the 27 local government areas of the state.
