The Ministry of Education, through the State Department for Basic Education, has commenced a joint implementation support mission to assess progress in the Kenya Primary Education Equity in Learning (KPEEL) and Secondary Education Equity and Quality Improvement Program (SEEQIP). The mission brings together Government officials and development partners to review implementation, strengthen coordination, and ensure program investments remain aligned with national priorities for transforming basic education. Day One focused on progress under both programs, with stakeholders examining how interventions are contributing to improved learning outcomes, stronger service delivery, and more equitable access to education. A key focus was school-level interventions aimed at equalising learning opportunities, including Result-Based School Grants under KPEEL and School Grants under SEEQIP, as well as support for vulnerable learners, including refugee integration and school meals.
