An old friend recently shared a photograph of the author from nearly 50 years ago, taken when she was a bridesmaid at the friend's wedding. The author was shocked and initially uncertain that the person in the photo was her. Growing up, she had struggled with self-confidence and often compared herself to others. Seeing the image of herself as a young woman allowed her to view herself in a new light.
