Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has denied that the political strategy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) G5 during the 2023 presidential election manipulated the outcome in Rivers State. He stated that no evidence was presented at the tribunal to support claims that the Labour Party won the state. Wike, a member of the G5, explained that the strategy aimed to deny former Vice President Atiku Abubakar votes in the South-South region, as Atiku was considered the major threat. He also disclosed that a new political strategy is in place for the 2027 general elections.
