Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has denied claims that the PDP G5's political strategy during the 2023 presidential election manipulated the outcome in Rivers State. He said no evidence was presented at the tribunal to support claims that the Labour Party won the state. Wike, speaking after an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the FCT, disclosed that a fresh political strategy had been put in place ahead of the 2027 general elections. He explained that the G5 bloc aimed to deny former Vice President Atiku Abubakar votes in the South-South region, considering Atiku the major political opponent rather than Labour Party candidate Peter Obi.
