US President Donald Trump has called for artificial intelligence to be referred to as 'super intelligence' in US government documents. He made the announcement on Tuesday, September 22, during his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, arguing that the word 'artificial' makes the technology sound less powerful than it is. Trump stated that from that point forward, all US documents and hopefully the world's would use the term 'super' instead of 'artificial,' abbreviating it as 'S.I.' He also used his UN speech to reiterate his opposition to international efforts to impose new controls on AI, rejecting what he called a 'globalist scheme' to control the technology.
